WHOLE WORLD (IT WILL END WELL)
Just a song of hope! I wrote it on Tuesday and thought I'd share it because for me it has helped me remember the eternal truth that, whatever comes today, tomorrow or in the weeks ahead, God is writing my story and I choose to trust him ... and he is trustworthy. Things might not go how I would have them go but ... I'm not God and he is! Easy to say. Harder to live. But as a Christian that's my reality. And I am full of hope. No matter how my story goes I have the certainty that ... He's got the whole world in his hands AND he is holding me.
Let it be (Mary's song)
I had the joy of recording this beautiful song with the amazing Grace B. I'd been looking for someone who could capture the innocence and bravery of a 13 year old Mary. I am so often in awe of Mary's surrender to her God and his will. In writing the song I imagined a lullaby becoming Mary's battle cry. My prayer is that this simple song will be a blessing to you and draw you into the wonder of The Almighty God finding 'home' with a girl of faith. May you find home with people of faith. May you echo Mary's, 'Let it be'.
FOREVER HOLDING ME
A song that just kind of landed with me one morning at the Songwriters Consultation, Ashburnham. Just a rough recording, but I thought it might help some people. I thought it was going to be a song about God catching us when we fall,l but as it started to form I released that for him to catch us he would have had to let go. If he never lets go and it feels like you're falling then he must be with you in the fall.
Hold the world
My first song from 'the 12 song challenge' organised by resoundworship.org This months challenge was to corporate song of intercession. God we are calling on the one who holds it all, to hold the broken child in his hands. And we are calling on the one who calmed the storm; 'Bring peace to the heart that's overwhelmed.' We are calling on the one who saved it al. To catch the falling soul in his hands. And we are calling on the name above all names; 'Speak hope, speak life.' Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You hold the world in your hands You hold the world in your hands Nothing can separate us Nothing can overcome us You hold the world in your hands You hold the world in your hands You hold the world in your hands You hold the world in your hands Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa So we are standing, here beside you and we're declaring our God is good Yes we are standing, here beside you and we're declaring our God is good Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa You hold the world in your hands You hold the world in your hands
Beautiful child is a song written to explore the presence of God in the darkest situations. I wrote it after hearing the story of a woman held captive int he slave trade. She had no hope of freedom. So where was God in that? As I prayed and worshipped this is the song I heard Him singing. This is His song over that woman, over me and over anyone who cannot see hope.
WADE IN THE WATER
WHAT AM I DOING HERE INSIDE / WHEN THE RAIN IS FALLING? / AND WHY AM I STANDING ON THE EDGE / WHEN I FEEL LIKE SWIMMING? / I WANT TO DIVE RIGHT IN / WHAT AM I AFRAID OF? / I WANT TO DANCE IN THE RAIN// WHY DO I FEEL ALL ALONE / IN THIS CROWD OF PEOPLE? / WHY AM I STANDING ON THE LINE / WHEN IT'S ALREADY STARTED? / I WANT TO RUN THIS RACE / WHAT AM I AFRAID OF? / I WANT TO DANCE IN THE RAIN // LET ME WADE IN THE WATER / LET ME SWIM IN THE RIVER / LET ME DANCE IN THE RAIN WITH YOU// LET ME WADE IN THE WATER / LET ME SWIM IN THE RIVER / LET ME DANCE IN THE RAIN WITH YOU // WHY AM I SILENT ONCE AGAIN / WHEN I FEEL LIKE SCREAMING? / WHY WON'T MY FEET MOVE TO YOUR BEAT / WHEN THEY'RE MADE FOR DANCING? / I WANT TO SHOUT YOUR NAME / WHAT AM I AFRAID OF? / I WANT TO DANCE IN THE RAIN //
